Sump Pump Installation & Repair

Sump pumps are needed if you have ground water issues. For example, if you have a patio underneath a deck that’s in a basement and it sits below ground level, we’ll put a sump pump in there to help get that water out.

If you have water issues in your basement, a lot of times we’ll install drainage that will move water into a sump pump pit. In short, a sump pump is needed wherever there’s a water issue that doesn’t have to do with your plumbing system.

Common Reasons a Sump Pump Stops Working or Needs Repair

It depends on the sump pump. The only real thing we can repair on it would be the float switch. If it’s anything electrical on the inside of the pump, it’s more cost effective to just put a new pump in.

Signs that you need a service call include: Grinding noises, rattling noises, a humming noise, or water coming out of where the sump pump is located.

Sump Pump Installation Process

First, you have to pull the pump, then make sure the line is drained. After the pump pit is cleared out, we put the new pump in, make sure the connections are tight, test it, and let it go! Sump pumps are a very simple install in comparison to a sewer ejection pump.

We’re a service and repair company. So, when it comes to sizing up a replacement situation, we’re well equipped. If you have a three quarter horsepower sump pump when we get there, and we know we’re not going to put a half inch one in,  we’re going to go with a three-quarter-inch pump.

And if a one inch pump or one horsepower pump will fit, then we can give you an option. We can give you a more beefy pump, which means it’s not going to work as hard to get the water out, or we can go back in with the same size pump that was there when we showed up. The beauty of it is, it’s your choice.
